Thanks so much to everybody who made it to our circle time yesterday - I think it was our most well-attended one yet! It was so much fun, even when the technology did not work 100% as expected! As well as doing our roll, the days of the week and checking the weather, we had a lovely story read to us by Gary. The story reminded us that it's OK to worry about things sometimes and gave us some ideas for dealing with worry. Thanks to everyone for some great suggestions for Simon Says at the end. We really liked Ildi's suggestion that we make a funny face - we hope you agree they looked funny!
Hello all, we hope you're having a lovely week! Dónal from Fingal Music Academy has done some work with us in Powerstown about music and has a series of videos that you might be interested in following at home: Circle TimeThanks to everybody who made it to our rescheduled circle time yesterday: we had a lot of fun! We enjoyed doing our normal circle time activities like checking the roll, marking the days of the week and checking the weather. All with our favourite songs of course! We had a lot of fun at the end playing Simon says and looking for things around the house that started with the letters T and P. We look forward to seeing you again if you can make it later this week!
Hello all: we hope you've been enjoying the fine weather! It certainly got a lot cloudier and rainier where I am this morning so I'm glad I got out over the weekend. We look forward to seeing anybody who can make it at our zoom circle times this week. A reminder that today's circle time has been moved to 12:00 due to scheduling conflict. We hope you can make it! As always, if you have any news or queries, you can contact [email protected] or [email protected] NewsPatrick here: hope you are all doing well lately! The good weather has been very nice and I hope you've all had a chance to get outside and enjoy it. I've enjoyed taking walks in the park near my house. You might remember that the last time I gave you my news I had planted my cactus collection into a big pot. Well, I managed to add a few more to the collection on my trip to the supermarket last week! I like them because they are easier to keep alive than some other plants. I've also been doing lots of cooking and baking at home - I made a pizza at the weekend (just like the pizza game we like to play in class!). I put an egg on my one, which is a little strange but very nice! I also made some bread, which is something I really enjoy doing.

NewsGary's news: Gary has been enjoying the good weather this week and is glad to have the beach close by to let off some steam! We have also making some different arts and crafts. Our favourite was this caterpillar we made after finding a couple of real ones in our garden! Intercultural MayAs the Month of May comes to an end we have seen lots of great Intercultural May Projects. Please take some time over the weekend to finish up your project and maybe find out a little bit more about the country of your choice, We hope to display all of our wonderful work in the coming week! Well done to everyone for all the great work you have done!
Thanks for another great Circle Time yesterday gang! We had a lot of fun together! Alex from Holly class showed us his book - he has been doing lots of writing in it! Well done! We enjoyed our usual morning activities like saying hello, checking the days of the week and checking the weather and then we had a fun hunt to find some white and purple objects. Well done everybody! Yoga for kidsIf you are looking for a relaxing physical activity, the following link has a series of YouTube pages with yoga for children. This was always a very popular and relaxing activity in class so it might be nice to try at home!
https://awakeandmindful.com/best-kids-yoga-videos-on-youtube/ Hard to believe that May is nearly over! We've loved seeing people's ideas and projects for Intercultural May and have enjoyed doing our own learning too. If there's anything else you'd like to share, we would love to see it: you can always email [email protected] or [email protected]. Circle TimeWe had another lovely Circle Time yesterday on zoom - we understand that it can be so hard to make time for things like this at the moment so we really appreciate seeing the faces when we can! Alex showed us the cool sticker he had on his shirt! We also had a very special guest - Stephen from Hazel Class! Stephen wanted to drop in and say hello to everybody because he had heard how much fin we have during Circle Time. We also got really lucky and Stephen introduced us to his dog Sophie - two special guests instead of one! Thanks everybody for participating really enthusiastically in all our activities. I loved seeing what everybody got beginning with the letters "B" and "D". Ladybug artMarta has made a really nice ladybug art activity if anybody would like to try it at home! You will need: paper, pencil, paint, brush, glue, pasta and rice
Hello everybody: we hope you are having a nice week and getting to enjoy the sunny weather! Just a reminder that if you have any news, or any work from home you'd like to share you can always get in touch with [email protected] or [email protected]. NewsElliott shared some lovely news with us! He and his sister made signs to put in the window of their house to remind everybody that we are all in this together while restrictions apply due to covid and for everybody to do their best. The signs look absolutely fantastic and they got a letter from the Taoiseach thanking them for their support! Well done guys - you must be very proud and so are we! Ildi's news:
Hi guys, I am so proud of all of you for the hard work you are doing every week. It is lovely to see you on Zoom. I miss you so much and hope we can meet very soon. Here is our news. We made nice smoothies together. At last my kids could give a haircut to our grass head men we made few weeks ago. We made a scale out of a hanger and two paper cups, and learned about weight. We tried to go out as much as we could in the sunshine. I cannot wait to hear your news. Ildi Hello all! We hope you had a lovely weekend! It was VERY windy, wasn't it? I'm glad to see the sunny weather back once again! As this is the last week of Intercultural May, we are hoping to have a whole-school presentation to showcase all the lovely work being done by our students. If you've had a chance to do any projects related to this, it would be lovely to see them! You can email them to [email protected] or [email protected] Patrick has made a video about some of the wildlife in Kenya as part of his Intercultural May project! Shared readingFollowing an excellent suggestion from Lisa, we are preparing some shared reading videos where we will read a page of a book while it is available to view on screen. It might be a nice way to work on reading at home! The first of these videos has been shared on Google Classroom today.
Happy Friday everyone, hope the weather forecast is wrong and we get some nice weather for the weekend. Owl ArtJustin went for a nice walk in the park and collected some twigs to make an Owl. Looks great, well done! Friday Circle TimeA big thanks to everybody at Friday Circle Time and a special thanks to Aoife for paying us a visit: it was great to see you again! We had a lovely time singing songs, checking the weather and racing off to find things that began with the letters "P" and "A"! Thanks for making it so much fun gang!
